Returns Through Wygodne Zwroty and InPost Quick Returns

Some packages arrive without a request, and the warehouse doesn't know whose they are. See how to match every shipment to an order, including ones sent without a form.

Returns Through Wygodne Zwroty and InPost Quick Returns

You accept returns through Wygodne Zwroty or InPost Quick Returns, and it works: the customer sends the package without a label and without a trip to the post office. The problem only starts at the warehouse, with packages that showed up on their own.

Two kinds of packages, one warehouse

Some customers do everything in order: they fill in the return form, then send the shipment. A package like that arrives with a ready-made case.

Some send a return without any request at all, because the service allows it and it’s simply faster. That package arrives too, it just doesn’t carry any information with it. Someone has to open it, look at what’s inside, and guess whose order it is.

With a few such shipments a day, it’s a minor annoyance. With a few dozen, the warehouse ends up with a pile of packages that can’t be matched without unpacking them.

What the path with a form looks like

The customer fills in a request on your site, then sends the package. RetJet connects the two, so the shipment is linked to the case from the moment it’s sent, and you see it’s on its way before it arrives.

The warehouse has nothing to figure out here: at receiving, it sees a ready-made case and simply processes it.

What the path without a form looks like

This second path is the whole point of this page. A package sent without a request doesn’t disappear from view:

  1. RetJet tracks the shipment itself, so you know a return is on its way even though it isn’t in the system yet.
  2. At receiving, the warehouse worker scans the label.
  3. A short handling form opens, where they add the return and attach it to an order.
  4. From that point on, the package has its own case and follows the normal path.

The whole difference comes down to this: the data gets filled in once, at scanning, instead of being tracked down afterward in emails and order history.

What changes in day-to-day work

No return goes missing. Not even the one where the customer did nothing but send the package.

Receiving is faster. A scan, a few fields, done. No opening the box to work out what’s inside and who it belongs to.

The process is the same regardless of the customer. You don’t have to maintain two ways of working, one for those who filled in the form and one for everyone else.

The data closes the loop. Every shipment ends up as a specific request, so reports and order history match what actually arrived at the warehouse.

The mechanism itself for recognizing shipments by label number is described on the feature page label-based parcel identification.
