Right-of-withdrawal button (EU 2023/2673)

EU Directive 2023/2673 requires online sellers to provide a simple, easy-to-find interface for withdrawing from a contract. In practice, this is called the right-of-withdrawal button: one clear place where the customer submits their statement, without writing an email or hunting for a form in the terms and conditions.

RetJet provides a ready-made withdrawal button and connects it to the return process, so the whole thing stays transparent and well documented.

How it works

  • A clear “Withdraw from the contract” function is available on the store’s site.
  • The customer’s statement is saved with a date and time, and the customer gets a confirmation.
  • The case lands in the RetJet dashboard and goes through the standard handling stages (with a parcel, if needed).
  • Message wording and languages can be adapted to your brand and markets.

What the store gains

  • Compliance with the legal requirement without building a separate, ad hoc solution.
  • A full action history and a single source of truth on the case status.
  • A connection to shipment monitoring and label-based identification, which speeds up decisions. Note: this description is not legal advice.

Example

The customer submits their statement through the visible section on the site. The system sends a confirmation and creates a case. If the parcel has already been shipped, RetJet shows it as “in transit” and pins it to the same case by its label.
