How to connect Shopify

Set up the Shopify integration with RetJet step by step. Covers creating an API key and granting read-only permissions.

In Shopify, access for RetJet is set up as a custom app in your store’s admin. You grant it read-only permissions and copy the token Shopify shows once, right after installation.

Generate an API key in Shopify

  1. Log in to the Shopify admin panel.
  2. Go to ‘Settings’ > ‘Apps and sales channels’.
  3. Click ‘Develop apps’. On first use, Shopify will ask for confirmation: choose ‘Allow custom app development’.
  4. Click ‘Create an app’, give it a name (for example RetJet), and confirm.
  5. On the ‘Configuration’ tab, open ‘Admin API integration’ and click ‘Configure’.
  6. Select the read permissions (read_... scopes) for the resources you need, and save.
  7. Click ‘Install app’ to install the app in your store.
  8. Copy the ‘Admin API access token’: Shopify shows it only once, right after installation.
