How to connect DPD
What to prepare to connect DPD to RetJet: API access on your own contract, customer number, and setting up the add-on in the dashboard.
DPD connects as an add-on. In RetJet, add-ons handle the parcel’s way back: creating and tracking the return shipment. They don’t fetch orders; sales channels handle that.
The integration runs on your contract
DPD doesn’t grant API access just because you sign up with RetJet. You need your store’s own contract with the carrier, and access is issued by your DPD account manager.
Ask them for all three pieces of data:
- API login,
- API password,
- customer number, also referred to as the FID in DPD’s documentation.
The customer number is the part people forget most often, because it doesn’t look like login credentials. Without it, the shipment can’t be linked to the right contract.
Set up the add-on in RetJet
- Log in to RetJet.
- Go to the “Add-ons” section.
- Choose “DPD”.
- Enter the data you got from the carrier and save.
The exact fields depend on the type of contract you have with DPD. If the form looks different from what’s described here, contact us before filling it in and we’ll check which variant your account uses.
After saving
DPD will appear as a return method in the return form, and the shipment number will be saved to the request once it’s created. From that point you can see in the dashboard that the parcel is on its way to the warehouse, without having to unpack it to figure out what it’s about.
